Following information is collected from UTS (The Internet-Based Turkish Test) web-site users.

• E-mail
• Phone number
• The type of the test applied
• The date of the test
• The payment information
• The intended use of the web-site
• First language and other languages that the applicant speaks

Additionally UTS (The Internet-Based Turkish Test) Centre monitors the number of the visitors and the information that users try to access.

The Use of Personal Information

The personal information which is gathered during the application is used for the following purposes:

• to complete and confirm the application process,
• to define needs of the users,
• to improve our products and services,
• to compile statistical data about user profiles,
• to generate data which will contribute to their teaching process of Turkish as a foreign language,
• to keep users posted on the developments in this field,
• to have users contribute to small scale researches.

The Sharing of the Personal Information

The personal information of the applicants is only shared with third parties and organizations at their demand. Furthermore, this information is shared by other individuals and organizations who are involved in administrative and technical processes within our institution. On the other hand, under obligatory circumstances, the information gathered at our web-site can be shared to protect the benefit of our institution, to prevent the harm of other institutions and to constitute other legal procedures.

UTS (The Internet-Based Turkish Test) web-site has taken all necessary precautions to prevent fake applications and unauthenticated access to the web-site. However, the safety of your personal information can not be guaranteed under the circumstances where the unauthenticated users perform actions that are contrary to the laws and arrangements with the web. The password provided to the users during the application process enables the protection of personal information. Therefore, it is vital that this password is not shared with anyone.

Other Rights

Request to Change the Test Date and Deletion of Registration

The applicants who have completed their applications and made their payments have the right to take the next test on condition that they make a request ... workdays before the scheduled test date. The applicants who want to take test on the next scheduled date in the country they have applied do not have to pay additional fees. However, the applicants who want to take the test in a country other than they have previously applied have to contact local test centre ... days before the test and make extra payment. Under no circumstances will the applicants who have made the payments ask for a refund.

The Cancellation and Postponing of the Test

The test can only be canceled under a copy detection by the invigilator’s report or with the user’s own will to abandon the test. In case the test is finished due to technical reasons or it is detected that the safety of the test is compromised, then the test is postponed to the next scheduled date. It is up to the invigilator’s report that the test is postponed due to health problems that the applicant may experience. Recalculation Request The recalculation process is only valid for spoken interaction, speaking and writing sections. If the applicants who have taken the test demand their test to be recalculated, they can send this demand to the local test center via phone or e-mail. In this kind of situation, the recalculation of test(s) will be assessed by another commission. After the recalculation, if it is found out that a mistake has been made for the benefit of the applicant, then the fee paid by applicant for the recalculation will be refunded. The results of the recalculation process are announced to applicants after 15 days.
